One of my greatest joys of the fall semester (2012) was having Mary Evelyn Tucker and John Grim in Princeton, my home town, where they taught a course in Religion and Ecology at the Princeton University. They have been friends for many years, but having them in town enabled us to deepen our friendship considerably. We had dinner together nearly every week, sharing hopes, dreams, and struggles. We watched the election results come in and shouted with ecstasy when the skaters moved toward Ohio to color that state blue. The movie they produced, "Journey of the Universe," which won an Emmy and has been aired on many PBS stations, was shown a number of times at the University, D&R Greenway, Princeton Seminary, and other places, followed by incredible discussions led by Mary Evelyn and John. Through these many showings, we've been able to expand a community of local people who see the universe story as context for the our great adventure. I'm sad to think of them returning to Yale, their home institution, but Mary Evelyn sent a list of all the many times they'll be back in Princeton over the next six month, nearly once a month, so . . . will be good!
